KID NOTORIOUS
I gotta confess,I don't have a clue who Robert Evans,for whom the main character of "Kid
Notorious",a new cartoon on Comedy Central,iz,but I waz suckered into watching it cuz a cartoon version of former Guns N'Roses
axeman Slash regularly appearz on it.So I did some internet research and Robert Evans waz the head of production over at Paramount
Pictures from 1966 to 1975 and whom the movie "The Kid Stays In The Picture"iz about.Guess he'z lived quite an exciting and
off the wall kinda life,so what better reason to make a cartoon of him?
Well,now that I've sat thru two episodes of it,I
haven't really laughed much and it just seems entertaining cuz it's just kinda quirky(yeah I know,a word that getz tossed
around too much when describing a new show).
I can't help but feel like I'm missing some of the jokes tho-as if they're
all inside jokes only the hardcore Evans' fans would understand.I betcha if I learned more about him and became familiar with
his past shenanigans I would really dig the show.But I don't.
I DO KNOW who Slash iz tho,and,if Slash wazn't the real
life neighbor of Evans,he woulda just stuck to being the rock geetarist we all know n' love,but now he's one of the coolest
cartoon characters since Pepe La Pue!
So let me in on the jokes,give me more Slash and I'll promise to like the show more.But
for now-

GODZILLA X MECHAGODZILLA(2003)
The latest in the Godzilla series released in Japan that hasn't reached the Statez yet,The Big G faces off against himself.Well,kinda
anywayz.Scientists have gathered the waterlogged bones of the original Godzilla that tormented Raymond Burr & Japan back
in 1954,used a DNA Computer,and made a cyborg called MechaGodzilla to destroy a new(?)Godzilla that's rampaging thru Bonzai
Land.All the other G-filmz are ignored in this flick except the original movie,tho we see references to other giant beastie
moviez such az "Mothra"&"War Of The Gargantuas".Oddly enough,they don't even bother trying to explain where this new Godzilla
has come from or how long he'z been tormenting the countryside,but he must've been around for long enough for a super SWAT
team built just to fight Godzilla called The AMF-The Anti-Megalosaurus Force-to be on call for any such appearence of Big
G.Course they get thier candy-asses kicked and stomped on,so hence the creation of The MechaGodzilla. But alas,thingz go wrong az expected when Mecha-G gets flashbacks from his 1950's dayz and turns on the poor folks.
After rebooting the big robot G,thingz get back to the battle royale,which just leadz to a dissapointing ending.Either
Godzilla gets bored with the shiney Big Benderzilla of himself or he just getz tired and wanderz off into the water while
Mecha-G stands there looking like it's giant sized Duracells' have dried up.Oh well.
Overall "Godzilla X MechaGodzilla"
iz alright,Mecha-G haz gotz some awesome weapons in it's arsenal,but Godzilla just seems like he'z not very interested with
it all.Kinda like when I torment my girlfriend's cat with one of my action figures.
The effects are neato,Big G has some
new cracklin' light up fin thingy goin' on and some nasty looking neck scales to distinguish him from the other flicks.
The
human characters,which really most Big G fans could probably care less about,are pretty likeable,only they lack any sense
of humor it seems,or perhaps when they release it out here with dubbed dialogue maybe they'll spice it up with some chuckles
like they did with "Godzilla 2000".
My suggestion for the next movie-more Godzilla,more hot Asian women and GABERA!!!
